Dallas Dhu Distillery was Established in 1899 and was acquired by Benmore Distilleries Ltd in 1921. It was tragically destroyed by fire in 1939 but rebuilt and continued producing whisky until 1983. It has been a visitor attraction (living museum) since 1988 as it was rebuit and reopened by Scotland's Historic Buildings and Monuments Directorate.
It has been rebuilt so succesfully and has been so perfectly maintained that it could easily start producing again in a matter of days. Whisky is still available from Dallas Dhu, but unfortunately stocks are falling.
